What are the possible causes of Functional Failure?

The sheer influence of the modern world:
With the advent of the modern media, the instant gratification it delivers has contributed to delayed independent development.

Parental factor:
Parents are programmed to take care of their child. Unfortunately sometimes, there is  disconnect between the support a parent offers and the expectations of the child.
